When, in 1743, Governor Shirley gave authority to raise a Snow Shoes Company on the frontiers of Maine and Massachusetts, David joined the one under command of Capt. Dominie Jordan. "Gustine Compendium", Gustine Courson Weaver, 1929, p. 286. Information from Edwin S. Hoot, 6402 Malcolm Dr., Dallas, TX on death date of 0 July 1765. Information from Bruce Albert Gustin III, Served as an Estate Administrator in 1766.
