Gladys McKeever, 82, of Oakwood Health Care Center, Kewanee died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, 1997 at the Center.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19 at Cavanagh and Schueneman Funeral Home Kewanee. The Rev. Joey Watt will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen memory Gardens, rural Kewanee. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18 at the funeral home. A memorial has been established and contributions may be sent to the First National Bank of Lacon, Lacon, Ill.

She was born Aug. 2, 1914 in Bradford, the daughter of Frank and Arlene (Manning) Hanchett. She was reared and educated in Bradford.
She married Leslie Ray McKeever on May 11, 1933 in Toulon. He died Aug. 8, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a grandson and four brothers.
Surviving are three daughters, (Mrs. Murt) Lauretta Holton of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., (Mrs. Jerry) Carole Skeel of Colona and (Mrs. Earl) Collene Lomeline of Crystal Lake; two sons, Bill (Sherrill) McKeever of Peoria and Bruch (Sandy) McKeever of Victoria; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Hanchett of Kewanee and two sister, Geraldine Peterson of New Windsor and Lucille Tucker of East Moline.

Mr. and Mrs. McKeever and her husband farmed for many years in the Bradford area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kewanee and the Henry County Home Extension. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and fishing.
