St. Petersburg, Fla. - Gerald Emerson "Red" Hanchett, 75, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died there Sunday.
Born Feb. 26, 1911, in Bradford, son of Frank and Arlene (Manning) Hanchett, he married Gertrude Parks in July of 1933.
She survives with two sons, Jay of St. Petersburg and George of Streator; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Nancy) VanWassenhove of Chattanooga, Tenn.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Everett of Bradford and Jerry of Kewanee; and three sisters, Mrs. Leslie (Gladys) McKeever of Kewanee, Mrs. Nolan (Lucille) Tucker of East Moline and Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Peterson of New Windsor.
Hanchett drove for L.E. Boling Trucking Co. in Kewanee. He retired in 1979 then moved to Florida.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Kewanee First Baptist Church.
