Bert Harris, 72, a lifelong resident of this area died suddenly early Monday evening at his home in Lombardville.

The son of Johnson and Laura (Newton) Harris, he was born July 17, 1888 at Modena. He was employed as an elevator operator at Lombardville, the Hotchkiss Steel Co. plant and Walker Hardware Store here.

On March 2, 1909, he married Blanche Manning at Bradford. Surviving are his wife, six children, Leo, Marion, and Howard, all of Bradford, Donald of Kewanee, Mrs. Lloyd (Viola) Roberts of Wyoming, Mrs. Lynn (Betty) Pratt of Neponset; one brother, Bliss Harris of Bradford; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son in infancy and two sisters, Mrs. Maude Leadley and Mrs. Mabel Howe.

Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dunlap Funeral Home, where visitation will be after 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Arnold Olsen, paster of the Bradford Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery.

Illinois 6 and was buried in Bradford Cemetery, Bradford, Stark County, Illinois.)

Last evening Miss Leo Blanche Manning and George Albert Harris were joined in holy bonds of matrimony, the bride's grandfather, Magistrate J. N. Kitterman performing the ceremony, at his residence on North Peoria street. They were attended by Miss Arlene Manning, sister of the bride, and Frank Hanchett and the event was witnessed by a few of the immediate relatives. The young couple are today receiving the best wishes of their friends.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Harris who reside on the Abram Phenix farm, and his bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. Manning, of this place. They were both reared in this community, and now that their lives have been united by the ties of affection every acquaintance offers to them heartiest felicitations.
